Rupert James (Bob) Magarey and the Kokoda Trail

Acknowledgements:
We are most grateful to Adjunct Professor Susan Magarey, who allowed us access to Rupert Magarey's diaries; and to Professor Donald Simpson and Raymond Paull who provided further information.
This talk was presented to the Society in June, 2016.

This presentation gives an overview of surgeon Rupert Magarey's service in New Guinea during WWII, the Kokoda trail, and later surgical contributions.
